This term started off with a new course introduced by Mr. Claire, photography class!!! In photography class, we not only learn how to take pictures(of course), but deeper into that; we learn how to use the different functions on the camera instead of using the automatic mode, using the background to make the pictures stand out, the modes we use for different shots, the space, understanding how to focus properly, the shutter speed, the f stop, and editing photos. The interesting part of this class is that during double blocks, Mr. Claire takes us off the campus to take pictures of different things around.

Personally, I feel that photography class is a place where I am able to focus on my surroundings and capture them into one photo. I am passionate and interested in photography. The class allows me to understand that art is not only drawing, painting, sculpting, and shaping clay but also includes photography. Photoshop is another aspect that I enjoy; I’ve edited photos through VSCO, and other applications before. However, photoshop was taught in order for us to edit the photos using tools. I was surprised by how many edits we could make. I sometimes wondered how realistic photos became after editing them because the products of my edits were successful.

“Photography is more than a class to me; it is an experience of having the opportunity to take a stroll around and off the school the campus. It is amazing exposure around the school. Photography class allows me to take a hobby as a class and make me a better photographer. I have learned numerous camera hacks into getting a good photo and photoshopping. Overall, photography class has being an amazing experience so far and since I took this class I have seen major difference in my photographs.”
