A photo essay by Annie '18, detailing her experience serving in the eighth grade service trip this past October.
In October, my peers and I traveled to New York City for a week-long service trip. We served food to the homeless at food pantries and soup kitchens. When we weren’t dedicating ourselves to those in need, we went sightseeing. My group, consisting of six people and a teacher, went to the Brooklyn Bridge, Koreatown, Times Square, Top of the Rock, and other iconic landmarks of New York. I had a great time. We learned how to give back to the community while still having fun.
